Did you know that the very center of the typography universe happens to pulsate just a few states away? Delaware's own House Industries brings their "font" of knowledge to downtown DC for what promises to be a night of inspiration. House doesn't just make type - they love type, and it shows in every nook and cranny of their lavish packaging and amazing products to each delicately curved figure or expertly brushed form. Masters of multiple styles, from the sophisticated to the outlandish, they have done the unthinkable - created unique fonts that appeal not only to designers, but also to the masses. Their appreciation for the craftsmanship of the past masters has allowed them to shine the limelight on many other artists they admire, both highbrow and street level, as well as innovate on their own.
In fact, from their early beginnings, to their establishment as the current guard, the one thing that comes through is their love of type and all it's trappings. When you hug one of their pillows, don a pair of their shoes, lay out an annual report or create a band logo, wear your Rat Fink t-shirt or sit in your Neutraface Boomerang chair, or just try to find the perfect font for today's perplexing design - you feel that love. That attention to detail that only the truly smitten could apply. It makes one smile just to think about it.
